As a former resident of New Day, my feelings are a bit mixed on the place. Most of the staff there was fairly nice, even forgiving to a fault. They taught me a lot of things. But there's also some things they were lacking. Some of the youth that leave that program leave because they're too old. Which makes it hard for them to actually cope with the reality of becoming an adult. But the even harder truth is that they try to have the youth act like adults while they're still just kids. I know they mean the best, and that they try. But it doesn't really help when your expectations of a kid is to act as old as you.
